The Economics & Finance Society are delighted to invite you to a event you do not want to miss! Dr Ha-Joon Chang, currently a reader in the Political Economy of Development at the Faculty of Economics at University of Cambridge, will join us to have a talk on: -Rise of the machines: Are robots going to take away your jobs?
In 2013, Prospect magazine ranked Dr Chang as one of the Top 20 World Thinkers. He also served as a consultant to the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, the European Investment Bank, as well as to Oxfam and various United Nations agencies. Additionally, he is a fellow at the Center for Economic and Policy Research in Washington, D.C. His international recognition is attested by prizes such as the 2003 Gunnar Myrdal Prize in Evolutionary Political Economy and the 2005 Wassily Leontief Prize in Advancing the Frontiers of Economic Thought. Other notable publications include Kicking Away the Ladder: Development Strategy in Historical Perspective (2002), Bad Samaritans: The Myth of Free Trade and the Secret History of Capitalism (2008), 23 Things They Don’t Tell You About Capitalism (2010)
